About Us

Established in December 2013, the Broken Hill GP Super Clinic provides multnbidisciplinary, patient centered care and services, while at the same time supporting and training the healthcare professionals of the future.

Outback Family Practice was established in 2000 by Dr Rosalind Menzies. She was joined by Dr Funmilola Komolafe in 2002. In partnership since 2006, they developed the practice to a large multidisciplinary health organization with multiple sites, and continued to formulate plans for new premises to assist in expanding the vision of providing a vibrant multidisciplinary health service to the community of Broken Hill. The practice obtained funding from the National Rural and Remote Health Infrastructure Program in 2010 to assist in that expansion program.

Subsequently, funding was obtained under the Federal Government’s GP Super Clinics Program in 2011 for a new purpose built one-stop shop health facility which now stands as the Broken Hill GP Super Clinic. GP Super Clinics are a key element of the Australian Government’s strategy to build a stronger primary health care system.

The Broken Hill GP Super Clinic has a “Hub” which is the main facility, and is located in a health precinct directly opposite the main entrance to the Broken Hill Hospital. It is close to public transport and provides free onsite parking with disabled access.

The South Medical Centre which is located in the main street of South Broken Hill underwent renovations that upgraded the existing premises and became the “Spoke” site of the GP Super Clinic.

Our patients can access a wide range of services at one convenient location. This “one stop shop” approach means better communication between your doctor and the other health providers involved in your care. It also means our patients have improved access to pathology and pharmacy services which are co-located within our building.
